Café Middelberg

This place is mainly known for its desserts and it offers a plethora of them! Right from all sorts of confectioneries to delicious cakes, this is the go-to place in Aachen. If you are craving something sweet or just want to have coffee in a cozy Cafe, this is the spot! I really enjoyed the chocolate cake with fruits on top and coffee. The ambience is beautiful and service is fast. You can pay via card if the bill is more than 10€. A must recommend in the category of cafe's in Aachen :)

I came here yesterday to buy my friend some small graduation gift and I have had a great experience! I was standing there looking at chocolate option and they offer to help enthusiastically and also offer a slightly cheaper option with a slightly different packaging. We love the ladybug decoration which she also fulfill our wish. We also try the chocolate ourself and it was really nice. I would highly recommend trying the truffel and cappucino. Definitely coming for cakes next time!

Great sunday brunch at a decent price, including a glass of sweet cava (but coffee in supplement). Reservation (by phone) strongly recommended unless you arrive at the opening. Strong point : the variety of salty and sweat dishes. You can therefore taste several of the tarts/cakes sold at the bakery beneath (it wasnt really my thing but i was nice to taste them). Main critic : the slices of tarts/cakes are too big and we were told not to cut a part of it... it would really be better it the slices were smaller to taste more types. Regarding the staff, some people were friendly and others rather cold (but no one as mean as described in some comments)

We went to the Middelberg in a busy Sunday morning. We got an amazing experience. The staff had patience to explain the menu (even though I did not speak German). Food was great and if you go there make sure to try the apple strudel. Definitely worth it.

Great spot for a relaxing coffee break. The coffee was smooth and well-balanced, and the cake selection was delicious! The ambiance is cozy and inviting. They have a lot of options for the cakes, however, the names are missing in display.

The top choice in Aachen for Torten (fancy artisan cakes). Noone does it better than Middelberg, for over 30 years now! Incredible variety in cakes, chocolate truffles, cookies, savory foods (I haven't tried), and many other yummies Back to the Torten, which are the reason I come. Butter cream, white chocolate, Sahne (whipped cream), fruit, coffee, perfectly roasted nuts, all expertly combined and arranged to become works of art in taste and presentation. Check out my pictures - unbelievable. Ambience is modern yet still Aachen medieval charm, and nicely decorated. Service is pleasant and enjoyable - Aachen accent with east European tilt . If only the latte were made with fresh milk instead of H-Milch.
